Is coding a science subject? How old should students be when they start to learn to code? What is the role of the parent in a child’s coding education?<\/p>\n

As Canada is expected to see tech sector wage growth outpace the energy sector<\/a>, these are important questions.<\/p>\n

Yet curiously, they still tend to go unanswered by the majority of educators. Luckily CIRA Community Investment Program<\/a> recipient Kids Code Jeunesse is working to tackle this vital topic and bring it to the forefront of the educational curriculum.<\/p>\n

Kids Code Jeunesse<\/a> is a non-profit organization dedicated to giving Canadian children the chance to learn to code through intuitive teaching tools and support. We interviewed co-founder Kate Arthur for our podcast about the current state of computing coding in Canadian classrooms and how it’s never too late to learn another language\u2026 a coding one that is.<\/p>\n
